StatSheet Projects Seton Hall as NCAA Tournament Bubble Team Eight Seed: 02/07/2012

StatSheet is now projecting Seton Hall as an NCAA Tournament bubble team with a possible eight seed. The Pirates are unranked in the AP Poll and sit at #40 in the StatSheet StatRank with a 15-8 overall record and a 4-7 record in the Big East.

Over the last four games, Seton Hall got pummeled with losses to RPI #22 Connecticut, AP #18 Marquette, AP #24 Louisville, and RPI #55 Notre Dame.

Seton Hall is sub-par against strong competition, with a 5-8 record against the RPI Top 100 that includes a 3-5 record against the RPI Top 50 and an 0-2 record against AP ranked teams. The Pirates boast three quality wins including RPI #22 Connecticut, RPI #25 West Virginia, and RPI #40 St. Joseph's (PA) with no bad losses to speak of.

The last four teams into the NCAA Tournament with at-large bids are Ole Miss (14-8, 4-4 SEC, StatRank #52), Minnesota (17-7, 5-6 Big Ten, StatRank #50), NC State (17-7, 6-3 ACC, StatRank #58), and Notre Dame (15-8, 7-3 Big East, StatRank #55).

The first four teams out are Brigham Young (20-6, 8-3 West Coast, StatRank #46), Colorado (16-7, 8-3 Pac 12, StatRank #66), New Mexico (19-4, 5-2 Mountain West, StatRank #41), and Texas (15-9, 5-6 Big 12, StatRank #71).

The next four out are Arizona (16-8, 7-4 Pac 12, StatRank #65), LSU (13-9, 3-5 SEC, StatRank #70), Pittsburgh (15-9, 4-7 Big East, StatRank #63), and Purdue (15-8, 5-5 Big Ten, StatRank #62).
